Designed in 1958 by Pierre Paulin, Artifort reintroduced the Moulin side chair and armchair in 2013. This chair was previously part of the offering of Thonet in France but is now under the Artifort umbrella that includes an array of Pierre Paulin's most popular furniture designs.
Artifort refers to the Moulin as "an old fashioned chair", and in a way, it is. It was originally conceived by Pierre Paulin in 1958 on the Rue Jean Moulin. It is a simple and modest, clean and strikingly modern classic.
The Moulin makes a great dining chair or chair for a work table.
The armchair version of Pierre Paulin's Moulin introduces supportive arms to the collection's slender frame and uncomplicated upholstered seat. Artifort dates the original Moulin design to 1958, placing it among Paulin's formative explorations of light, functional modern furniture.
