The Mies van der Rohe Day Bed design was first used in 1930 in Philip Johnson's apartment in New York and later shown to the public in 1931 at the Berlin Building Exhibition as part of furniture for a "bachelor's apartment."
Mies van der Rohe's Day Bed was initially designated as the "Couch 258", though in recent years, it has gone by different names. The style is simple and stylish. It uses the same manufacturing technique as the Pavilion Chair, as each leather or fabric square is cut and sewn back together, providing a unique tuft. The underside is supported by hide leather and steel bracing components.
The Day Bed continues to be popular in residential and commercial settings. Its comfort and style are unmatched.
Materials: Upholstered daybed with supporting hide belts, a walnut-stained hardwood frame, and tubular steel legs. Cushion and headrest stuffed with polyurethane foam and synthetic fiber.
