La Gabbia Container / Shelving Unit by Opinion Ciatti

The La Gabbia shelving unit by Lapo Ciatti for Opinion Ciatti is a sculptural storage piece that transforms the concept of containment into a design statement. Inspired by medieval forms and symbolism, La Gabbia—Italian for “The Cage”—reimagines the idea of confinement as a protective shrine for cherished objects. Crafted from metal and aluminum, it features four open shelves and is adorned with 24 glossy studs, lending it a bold, ornamental character. Its cylindrical, vertical form is both functional and visually striking, making it suitable for various uses, from a bookcase to a display unit.

Available in three distinctive finishes—matte black with black nickel studs, corten-effect lacquer with 24K gold studs, and polished stainless steel with chrome studs—La Gabbia seamlessly integrates into both classic and contemporary interiors. Its unique design not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of any space but also serves as a conversation piece, reflecting a blend of historical inspiration and modern craftsmanship.
