Paul Theodore Frankl
Born in Vienna in 1886, Frankl moved to the United States in 1914, and by the 1920s was well-established enough to open his own NYC gallery, promoting his famous skyscraper furniture style. As a designer, merchant, instructor, and writer, Frankl was a founder of and a great proponent for the American Modernism throughout his career.
