Marcel Breuer's B 40 Chair is one of the most iconic pieces from the Bauhaus School. This model is produced by Tecta in Germany, the licensed producer of this item.
Developed in 1926 as the B5 for Standard-Moebel, and reissued by Tecta as the B40, this simple chair is still popular today around a dining room table or as a single utilitarian sculpture. The B40 is available in a variety of finishes including fabric, CORA, and iron yarn (a Bauhaus-created thick woven fabric). You can read more about the history of this Breuer Chair in the Smithsonian permanent collection here.
Made in Germany by Tecta. Licensed reproductions of Bauhaus Designs by Tecta are approved by the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin and carry the Signet "Original Bauhaus Modell" as designed by Oskar Schlemmer at The Bauhaus Weimar in 1922.
