The Artifort F978 Lounge Chair designed by Geoffrey Harcourt in 1968 has been reintroduced in 2006 by Artifort (base is slightly adapted).
The Artifort F978 has a hard white or black polyurethane shell. The inner shell is upholstered with Super Bultex foam and Dacron. It is fixed to the hard polyurethane shell. The base is an aluminum polished disk.
Geoffrey Harcourt was trained at the Royal College of Art in London in 1935. His first projects with Artifort were small desk chairs in 1962. Much of his work and notoriety came from his designs of seating that are used in reception areas of hotels, offices and airports.
