Michael Thonet A18 Bentwood Stool

Michael Thonet A18 Bentwood Stool

The Number 18 bentwood stool was first designed by one of Michael Thonet's sons, August Thonet, in the 1800s.  The No. 18 bentwood stool remains a popular item due to is light but strong characteristics.

The first embossed seat appeared on Michael Thonet bentwood chairs in 1885 in an effort to appeal to a renaissance taste during this time.  Bauhaus2YourHouse offers several of these designs as optional variations on many of the bentwood chairs and stools, including the No 18.
