The Danish architect and artist Verner Panton is widely regarded as one of the most important 20th century furniture designers. Impressive in their time, the designs introduced in the 1960s and 1970s have become design classics. The Panton S Chair, among other pieces designed by Panton, continue to be enormously popular and used around the world.
Starting in 1950 as a designer with the famous Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton quickly went in his own direction created radical and psychedelic lighting, furniture, upholstery and other textiles.
