The Genni Chaise was designed by the Italian painter, architect, and designer Gabriele Mucchi in 1935. Though Mucchi is known more for his paintings during the Italian avante garde movement, this particular furniture piece and the complementing ottoman, have gone onto become modern classics. One can easily see the influence of the Bauhaus period on this piece with its rectilinear shape and use of tubular steel. Certainly both Breuer and Corbusier must have been influences on this design that makes a wonderful addition to any living room or den.
