Le Corbusier Swivel Armchair (LC7)

The Le Corbusier LC7 Armchair was originally designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1927.  It was not until 1929 that the LC7 was integrated into the Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand collection for the Salon D' Automne in Paris.

Le Corbusier is considered to be the most important Modernist chair designer and architect of France. A spirited advocate of Modernism, Le Corbusier created a range of lounge chairs that express his ideals with great sophistication. The Le Corbusier swivel armchair (LC7) represents the designer's interest in exploring the structural possibilities that would be available when using tubular steel. The Le Corbusier swivel armchair (LC7) was designed to mirror the (LC8) swivel stool. The swivel stool (LC7) is constructed with a chrome plated tubular steel frame and an upholstered seat cushion.
