Bauhaus2YourHouse is proud to present the Walter Gropius das Faguswerk Alfeld Sofa.  Walter Gropius was a German architect and founder of Bauhaus. Along with Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier, he is widely regarded as one of the pioneering masters of "modern" architecture.  The Faguswerk Alfeld Sofa is one of just a handful of designs from the head of the Bauhaus that is still reproduced on a mass scale.  Great attention to detail has been made to maintain size, shape and even materials used to provide an authentic licensed reproduction by this master.

In 1919, Gropius was appointed the Master the Grand-Ducal Saxon School of Arts and Crafts in Weimar. It was this academy which Gropius transformed into the world famous Bauhaus, attracting a faculty which included Paul Klee, Johannes Itten, Josef Albers, Herbet Bayer, Lissitsky, Moholy-Nagy, and Wassily Kandinsky. Students collaborated on the use modern and innovative materials and mass-produced fittings, often originally intended for industrial settings, to create original furniture and buildings.
