Michael Thonet's A14 has been called the chair of chairs. It has been widely used in various seating applications around the world, from residential to contract.
Michael Thonet developed the process for the bentwood chair in the later half of the 19th century. This patented process heated layers of wood to make long round parts for his chairs. Limiting the number of required peices for the chairs allowed for an efficient and highly productive factory.
These chairs are made the same way they were made over 100 years ago, using the original jigs at the original Thonet factory.
Made in Poland.
