The Marcel Breuer Writing Desk was designed in 1932, and shown at the Werkbundausstellung Neubuhl in 1932.
Marcel Breuer is considered to be one of the fathers of Modernism. As one of the students and teachers at the Bauhaus school, Breuer focused on the integration of technology, materials and art. During his career he was an architect, teacher and furniture designer. Breuer is famous for number of furniture designs, though perhaps no chair design is more famous than his Wassily Chair, Laccio Table, and Cesca Chair.
