Le Corbusier designed the swivel stool (LC8) in 1929 with Charlotte Perriand for the Salon D' Automne in Paris. Le Corbusier is considered to be the most important Modernist chair designer and archteict of France. A spirited advocate of Modernism, Le Corbusier created a range of lounge chairs that express his ideals with great sophistication.
The Le Corbusier swivel stool (LC8) represents the designer's interest in exploring the structural possibilities that would be available when using tubular steel. The Le Corbusier swivel stool (LC8) was designed to mirror the (LC8) swivel chair. The swivel stool (LC8) is constructed with a chrome plated tubular steel frame and an upholstered seat cushion.
