The base of this Noguchi table is said to have been inspired by the form of the traditional washbasin. It was put into production by Knoll Associates of New York in 1954 and went out of production at the end of the 1950's. This much admired table by the great Japanese-American designer Isamu is one of he most significant pieces of furniture of the period.
