The Eero Saarinen Table offered here is a unique 41" oval coffee table. The Saarinen Table is available in two different color bases (white and black), two different base finishes (matte and glossy). It's available in many different tops including marble, granite and laminate.
Eero Saarinen was born in Finland to Eliel Saarinen, who was also an architect. Born in 1910, he came with his family to the United States in 1923. His father taught at the famous Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. Interacting with his father's peers at Cranbrook undoubtedly influenced the aspiring designer. In 1929 he went on to Paris to study sculpture, but came back to the United States to complete his architectural studies at Yale University in 1934.
Saarinen's style is unique though some items show clear influence from other mid-century designers such as Florence Knoll or Charles Eames. The Saarinen Table, however, is clearly a signature piece from this legendary designer.
